Second Life to see what was going on. It's different every time. This must have been evening and music was playing and people were dancing. I watched for awhile then someone invited me to dance. I said yes and was immediately animated and dancing with a bunch of others. Took several snap shots and this is one...

Had watered all of the plants outside real well Friday morning so of course, that brought on the rain. Had a good soaking rain all morning yesterday. Cooled things down for a little while. Randy brought us a charcoaled chicken and is bringing some ribs by today. Nice. Won't have to cook much for a day or two.

in Second Life I picked some free flowers and learned how to modify them and post them for sale. Kind of fun learning a little at a time. Had breakfast at Duffy's and dusted off a bunch of old record albums. Hopefully son from Austin will have room for them on his next trip up here which should be this month. There are a bunch of Disney story albums he was really wanting to take last time but they just didn't have room. Hopefully he'll take them all so I won't have to dust them anymore. There's also some of my old ballet records and records that their great grandmother had like Guy Lombardo and Rosemary Clooney and some hard rock albums that they later acquired. Of course some of the album covers didn't have records in them and visa versa. I've also got the old Edison console with a basket full of records that was my grandmother's. Records like Little Brown Jug and Bye Bye Blackbird. So fun to listen to. Time to do some cooking...

So, it's not getting any better. So many people's stuff is not selling. I think people are holding onto what money they have and are afraid to spend it just yet. Zazzle sales are good but cafepress is dead. Think they shot themselves in the foot. Spent yesterday getting groceries and recovering from the drive south. We bought some dog clippers and the dogs seem to be a lot happier now with less fur. When I logged into SL yesterday some girls offered me a free makeover. I got new clothes and lots of new hair-dos. Think they are starting a new business in 2nd life and want models to promote their makeover line. It's a paying job so might try it for awhile. Can save up to buy my own land there then start building a shop on it. Received a letter from the post office closest to us and they are closing up due to the economy. Our mail will come through the one downtown. Will be more difficult to pick up and mail large packages unless I fill out a form to have them drop it in the yard. Dogs are old enough now to not tear things up. Had to get a few more groceries this morning because dh likes certain things at Reasor's. He likes the grapes and strawberries from there and I wasn't looking carefully enough. I accidentlly bought cherries instead of purple grapes. What am I going to do with a whole bag full of cherries? I never use them and have no idea what to do with them. They were the same color as the grapes and I'm not making another trip to the store today. Got to get busy making meatloaf and green beans and new potatoes for dinner...

I need to catch up. DH has a 3 day weekend so he won't go back to work until Tuesday. Sis called last night and decided she was ready to move back to Tulsa. Couldn't take the small town people. The other sis and I drove down this morning and loaded her up. Photos tomorrow. Her old job is going to take her back(they didn't want her to leave anyway) and she can get her life back together. I told her I'm too old to be doing this anymore(rescuing people). Had to force myself to eat part of a small order of french fries from MacDonald's to keep from starving on the way back. My face will probably be all swollen in the morning from all of the salt. Time to play Wii tennis and golf then relax...

Miserable heat this week. Trying to get outside stuff done real early. Some stores just don't open early enough. Got stocked back up on groceries and bought some that I don't have to cook like pre-cooked shrimp. Just hope it is not rubbery. Made a potato salad and some breakfast bars. Still need to make the almond milk. Did several loads of wash and then played around in 2nd life. Explored several places and practiced walking and riding my horse and using some tools that my friend showed me yesterday. I need to sign up for a class on making objects. They are free and I've just about decided to start out with a pet shop so people can buy virtual pets and pet supplies. Will combine it with some plants that I can create for sale. That sounds like more fun than buying and selling real estate for right now. Found a nice coffee shop and sat outside with my free latte and watched the ocean waves hit up against some rocks. Received my new Wii tennis but haven't had much time to mess with it yet. Is a bit more complicated so it's going to take some time. Been spending so much time in 2nd life that it's taking away from everything else. Almost time for dinner...

I am so caught up in it. There is so much to do. First you create an avatar of yourself. You can look however you want from conservative to very, very wild. My mentor even made herself into a little welsh corgi. You can get a job(even as a stripper if you want) or you can become a land baron and make real life dollars. You can make virtual clothing, jewelery, etc. and sell in your shop. I have spent the last three days just reading and learning. Even had a chat yesterday on Help Island with someone from England. Some people go there just for that. Will make this short because I can't wait to get back there...

Seems like it's getting hotter sooner this summer. Dogs are inside each afternoon now. Mr. toad is back and living under the dog's water bowl again. He is much bigger now and doesn't seem afraid of me at all. He just sat there and looked at me while I was giving the dogs fresh water.

The air conditioners are working great and I sold one of the old small ones to my boss. He is always needing additional a/c's. I was just going to give it to him but he insisted on buying it. Painted the flowers on the wall and am now thinking of lunch. May start a new painting today...

was up to 102 yesterday and the a/c's just aren't cutting it. They are small ones so dh suggested I go to Home Depot this morning and buy two bigger ones. One will go upstairs and one downstairs in the living room. The small one down here will go into the kitchen...YAAAAH! And the small one upstairs will go into the music room. When I was cooking on the weekend for DH and his son he realized how hot it became in the kitchen...finally! He said how come you didn't say anything? I said, I did last year! What did I say? he says. YOU said NO, we'll just aim the one in the living room toward the kitchen. Men ONLY listen when they want to! It's a known fact that they have "selective hearing". Sis came over this morning to get a share of the 3-bean salad and brought over a loaf of homemade wheat bread. Yum! Went great with the 3-bean salad for lunch. Then she & I went over to Home Depot. I got my a/c's and she got a bag of dirt to fill in some holes on the side of her house that one of the dogs made. I need to call and arrange to make payments on DH's medical bill. The big one finally came in even though the insurance paid most of it. I don't want to dig into savings for that. The 3 plants got picked up yesterday and I hosed off the back porch. Waiting for the kitchen to cool off so I can clean that up and that will be all of my projects for the day except maybe to update my website but that is a sitting down job...

for two whole hours this morning. Came home, ate lunch, checked e-mail and made a trip to WallyWorld for just a few things. Realized on the way back I forgot bananas and stuff for 3 bean salad. Not going to heat up the kitchen. So, stopped at Warehouse Market. So, hot getting back into car. Noone showed up to pick up the plants. At least, one of them write an e-mail and explained the a/c went out in her car. So, someone else is supposed to pick them up today. DH's brother came over to go through some of his stuff in the basement so I hope he is ok. Last time he went down there he fell and couldn't get up. DH will be home in a few minutes and he can check on him. Three bean salad is ready so I'm going to prop my feet up...

Ran Scooba, watered plants, washed 2 loads and worked out. Put message up on FreeCycle to see if someone would be interested in 3 of the philodendron plants. Got lots of responses so hopefully they'll be picked up today. I only want to keep one. Four is too many to take care of through the winter with all of the others I have. People are still writing complaints in the forum on cafepress. They are threatening to leave if prices are not raised back up by July. Baked salmon steaks this morning so I wouldn't heat up the kitchen this afternoon. Raw veggies were good yesterday so will have them again today too. Rested a bit and now am thinking of adding some painting to the walls. Was afraid Two blue walls might be a bit much but they look good now that the artwork is hung back up. Thinking of replacing the peach color on the other walls with a cornbread color. Want a change...

Feels like summer is here. Have to run errands in the mornings when it is cool. Had a good shower yesterday morning a little one this morning then walked around Swan Lake. Worked on Propell for about 2 hours both days. Washed a lot of towels and sheets. DH took his son back to Tahlequah yesterday so all is quiet again. He's talking about getting his high school diploma on line then joining the military which I think would be a good thing. He's almost likable lately and has been very helpful whenever we needed it. He is trying...bless his heart. He might have finally grown up. Some people take a long time to do that. They say on the news that the veggies that get to the grocery store are already 2 to 3 weeks old so they don't have much nutrition left in them. And, that it is better to shop at the local farmer's markets. I find it difficult to find broccoli and cauliflower in those places though. Too hot to cook so it's spinach salad with lots of raw veggies tonight...

Painting is slow going. I'm just not in good shape to be painting the walls. DH is doing most of it. Didn't plan on painting more than wall with the scrumbling but dh continued it. Think it's too much. I'll have to think of a way to tone it down. Maybe a glaze to lighten it. Also concerned about the lilac bush I planted last year. I'm used to crepe myrtles and they grow real fast and are hard to kill. Could be because Ralph has been watering(peeing)on it...Can't be good for it. DH found something to put around it for me though. My son is doing better now although he had to have four more bites lanced and dug out. Ouch! Had a big sale on zazzle last night. Someone bought 200 postcards with my image of Maggie's Butterflies. Sales have been good lately on both zazzle and cafepress. If gas goes up too high that may slow down again. Working on a new sight for the summer called Propell.com. They don't have as much but then they've only been around for a few months. Love the granite coasters they have. So I'm keeping busy...

Got a call from one of my sons down in Texas. He works on a ranch and apparently a bunch of spiders had climbed up inside his jeans and bit him on his legs. He also has one on one eyebrow. His wife made him go the emergency room last night. They cut a couple of the bites open to clean them out and he has to take antibiotics and some kind of malaria pills for about a month. He can't eat two hours before or after taking them. No dairy and certain foods are forbidden. Other than that it's been a quiet day with work and shopping for groceries. Don't have to cook tonight because they had a big feast where dh works...

Got up early but had breakfast at home. DH shouldn't have asked what I wanted to do today. I told him I wanted to paint that wall in the living room. Knew I would be hungry before we got home so we went to Duffy's and the waitress was so used to us getting the same thing everytime she brought me orange juice as if we were there for breakfast. Wonder if the cook already started cooking breakfast like he usually does. DH opted for their breakfast steak and I got a BLT. Then we went to Home Depot and got a quart of blue-green and a quart of white latex. The wall by the stairs is now partially painted and I am scrumbling the blue and white starting dark at the bottom and making it lighter and lighter the higher it goes. Makes painting a wall a whole lot more fun. Once some of the spackling is dry I can finish painting the rest of it. Have to work at boss's house tomorrow so won't get to it until Thursday. Am thinking of changing the wall colors everywhere now. Relaxing and thinking the rest of the day...
